A COMPARITIVE ANALYSIS OF BOTH THE ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF COOPERATIVE LEARNING FROM GRADES K-12
Cooperative learning represents one approach to teaching/learning which has been, and continues to be used within the academic setting for the advancement of both learning as well as education. Similarly, throughout this dissertation (proposal), it appears, from the literature, that cooperative learning works best within specifically defined settings, and as well, for specifically defined target groups. It may also be useful for certain subject areas, over others - - and as well, it appears, from the studies and reports on cooperative learning, that some groups, based on ethnicity, will benefit greater from cooperative learning.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
Cooperative learning contrasts to traditional pedagogic learning, that is to say, the type of academic or traditional school setting which most all of us has been raised with, as have generations past. At the same time, cooperative learning has been seen to be a strong enhancement to advancing the ideals and goals of education, as expounded upon in the literature review section of this proposal.
It is the belief of this author that there exists specific endemic components associated with cooperative learning which serve to validate it. In addition, within what this author sees as a growing and increasingly complex national educational setting, there exists a broad area for the use and benefit of cooperative learning as defined by
