A DISCUSSION AND ANALYSIS OF CORPORATE ETHICS AND RESPONSIBILITY
The purpose of this research paper is to address and assess corporate ethics and responsibility. Within today’s corporate climate, corporate ethics and responsibility are sore and sensitive. Enron, the Martha Stewart incident, as well as a host of others, have usurped the news in recent times. Some 15 or so years ago, it was the Milkens and others who were identified as corporate do-badders. Today, however, there is more emphasis than ever before upon corporate ethics and responsibility. Corporations and large companies have placed greater emphasis upon these, to the extent, that they have included them within their company organization, and universities and colleges nationwide have also included corporate ethics within their curriculum. One of the essential points that I should like to make throughout this research paper is that corporate ethics are a good business. According to one author - - for business these days, it’s all about doing the right thing, and that attitude is spilling across American borders. Forget the Enron debacle for a moment and consider the international plan that PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), one of the top five accounting firms, has made for its offices in 150 countries. This summer, the New York City based firm plans to unveil guidelines on how employees should conduct business in their respective offices in the United States and abroad.
