Research Paper On Analysis of “The Art of War” by Sun Tzu
There can be little doubt that Sun Tzu’s work “The Art of War” is perhaps one of the most widely read books in history. It is a work that details the strategies and philosophies involved with war yet is also a book that has been read by many who are not obviously involved in war. For example, sports players and business workers are different types of people who have gained a great deal by reading Tzu’s work. With that in mind the following paper presents an analysis of the work.
The Art of War
First and foremost we note that Tzu’s work clearly argues that war is a very real and essential part of life. He states “The art of war is of vital importance to the State. It is a matter of life and death, a road either to safety or to ruin” (I 1-2). If an individual is to analyze or critique the work they must perhaps understand that this is the entire thesis upon which Tzu’s work is based.
