Some of the world's most impoverished nations face a new set of problems as the world moves into the 21st century that is separate from the "traditional" concerns revolving around over-population, health problems, pollution, and lack of resources. Now, they also face the lack of sufficiently advanced technology that can allow them to move into the future with the necessary tools for growth, prosperity, and sustainability.
