Research Paper On A GROUP OBSERVATION PAPER: ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS
Throughout this research paper, this author intends to identify such evaluation criteria as identification of the purpose and goals of the group; description and evaluation of the structural characteristics, description of member roles and behaviors; description of norms and cohesion in the group; evaluation achievement of group goals; and analysis of leadership behaviors helped or hindered the groupís progress, to name some, which shall, for purposes of this relatively short research paper shall be addressed in the narrative fashion. For purposes of this research paper, this author visited one Alcoholic Anonymous (AA) group, largely for the purpose of observation. The group get together took place in downtown Newark, where they met for four hours every Tuesday. Frankly, it was not at all what I had expected. My previous perception of an Alcoholic Anonymous group was wherein a bunch of individuals, say 30 or so, congregated in a hall, seated, and listening to the speaker, or speakers (if volunteers wanted to) and a place where a lot of coffee and donuts were served.
