A CRITIQUE OF A RESEARCH ARTICLE DEALING WITH ISSUES SURROUNDING MASCULINITY DURING REHABILITATION
This paper will offer a critique of the article, Masculine Roles and Rehabilitation Outcomes Among Men Recovering from Serious Injuries, published by Good et al in the 2006 edition of the journal Psychology of Men and Masculinity. While the paper is not intended as a review of the specific subject matter addressed by the article, this paper will focus more on the elements of the research design itself as well as the statistical analysis provided as part of the research.

Some of the underlying assumptions for this research might pertain to the kinds of traditional norms about gender roles in today’s society as well as the type of socialization process that the men in this study might have experienced. Much of what we think we know about this issue has been studied extensively throughout the years in the areas of psychology, sociology, anthropology, group dynamics and family systems theory.
