Alfred HitchcockA Comparative Analysis of Some of His Films, i.e.Psycho, Dial M for Murder, and The Birds
The purpose of this research paper is to assess three films by Alfred Hitchcock and as well three perspective aspects which pervade these films, i.e. sound, direction and cinematography.I chose Alfred Hitchcock for the subject of this paper because he is arguably the best know, and in my opinion, accomplished director of the 20th century. Upon reviewing the literature, I find that the three films in question, along with many of the contemporary ones, inevitably revert back to his early era, particularly the silent era, i.e. The Lodger (1927). During the next decade, Hitchcock proffered many films which more or less reflect a kind of genre which may be characterized as witty suspense thrillers. These include Blackmail (1929), The Man Who Knew Too Much (1934), The 39 Steps (1935), and The Lady Vanishes (1938), to name just some.
