A DISCUSSION AND ANALYSIS OF THE TRADITIONAL AND INDUSTRIAL PERIODS WHICH THE AMERICAN FAMILY HAS PASSED THROUGH
The purpose of this paper is to identify two periods of research, or periods with which the American family has passed through, i.e., traditional and industrial. Similarly, it is the intent of this author to follow up on the chosen periods for the purpose of ascertaining family values, practices, and structures. For purposes of this research study, it is the intent of this author to ascertain and discuss family values within the traditional and industrial periods. To begin with, it is my view that traditional family values cannot be discussed without the inclusion of God. Since the days of the traditional. and early pioneers, the family has been largely self-sufficient. It has played an important part in the lives of these early immigrants, especially since it was they who migrated for the sake of political and religious freedom. America is largely filled with European immigrants. With them, they brought many of their family and traditional values.
