Number of Pages 6

Piaget did not start out to be a developmental psychologist. He was very interested in natural sciences and did not turn to psychology or psychological thought until after he had his PhD. Piaget changed the way people thought about how children learn and think. This essay provides a brief overview of Piaget's cognitive development stages, reports positive and negative comments about his theory, provides a synthesis of the major points in the theory, and discusses how it could be relevant to counseling or psychopathology. There are ten sources used in this six page paper.
