Hero's Cycle and Lord of the Flies

Number of Pages 3

This essay presents the argument that in William Golding's Lord of the Flies, the character of Simon is congruent with Joseph Campbell's hero cycle in some way, but differs from this paradigm also in order to support the author's principal thesis, which is that savagery lurks within the human psyche. Three pages in length, four sources are cited.
