Most people would agree that adolescents have a very difficult time negotiating their teenage years. Their bodies are changing rapidly and it is just hard for them to keep up with the changes. This paper looks at adolescence in the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. Adolescence as a stage in human lifespans was not a concept until the early 20th century. Past history is discussed. The other part of the paper discusses some of the differences between boys and girls during adolescence. There are four sources listed in the bibliography of this four page paper.
