How Different National Cultural Perspectives Can Impact Negotiations In A Multicultural Context

Number of Pages 3

3 pages in length. Reaching the desired beneficial outcome when engaged in multicultural negotiations requires a much greater degree of sensitivity where such aspects as time, hierarchy, religion, family and gender roles are concerned. The extent to which different cultures place different significance upon these components is both grand and far-reaching; that a roundtable of people might hail from such cultural backgrounds as supporting religiously sanctioned gender oppression, having attitudes of "family above all else" and adopting a leisurely approach to resolving most any problem speaks to a potentially volatile situation if not handled with a clear understanding - and acceptance - of diversity.
