Command of Temper

Number of Pages 3

Police reputation with the public they serve is based on many different factors, one of which is their command of temper. That philosophy was one adopted by a police commissioner in London, England in the 1800s. Although it is more than 100 years old, it is one that police training academies need to include in their curriculum. It is a simple equation-police loss of temper equals loss of control of the situation. This essay discuses what this means, why police demeanor is so important, and how these skills and attitudes can be taught. There are six sources used in this three page paper.
