One of the many ways to uphold a working system of checks and balances is through the practice called process recording. Nursing - more than virtually all other profession - relies upon the mastery of the health caregiver to maintain open communication with the patient; as such, it is a daunting task to verify each and every process without the help of creating a record of interaction. Behind the overall concept of process recording is to provide an opportunity for self-reflection in relation to the way in which interpersonal communication is approached.
