Descartes' attempt to define the notion of other minds brought him in direct contact with ideas that postulated the very essence of spiritual and physical being, inasmuch as the philosopher meticulously contemplated the various pathways an individual must travel to inevitably reach the awareness of how minds do, indeed, exist separate from on another.
