Five pages and four sources used. This paper considers the best approaches to teaching Saxon Math to gifted and talented students in California. This paper considers the struggles to develop programming in accordance with California State Math Standards in order to meet the needs of this study population. This study relates the specific elements of the Saxon math process and the issues in adapting this math program for students in gifted and talented programming. This paper relates the fact that while Saxon math may be beneficial, it may not be the best suited program for students in GATE.
